SureHealth Sugar Replacer is a South African developed product and contains no Aspartame. It is classified as a non-nutritive sweetener with a very low calorie value.

SureHealth sugar replacer consists of two major ingredients which produce the perfect sweetener with a range of previously unattainable benefits: 
The sweetening attribute is derived from acesulfame K, or acesulfame potassium.It has been approved for use in more than 40 countries and by the American 
Dietetic Organisation and by the World Health Organisation and is a widely 
used non-nutritive sweetener.

Acesulfame K is an organic salt consisting of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, Sulphur and potassium atoms.Acesulfame K is 200 times sweeter than sugar and has an excellent shelf life.
It is heat stable and uniquely, may be used in cooking and baking.

The second major ingredient of the SureHealth sugar replacer is maltrodextrin. Maltodextrin is derived from maize and does not have a sweet taste. It is the bulking agent acts as a carrier for the sweetening agent acesulfame K.

The combination of the two takes the SureHealth sugar replacer to a level where it is 10 times sweeter than sugar, with an intensity that allows for very small quantities to be used for a number of applications and with no aftertaste.
 
Maltodextrin is a complex carbohydrate – a long chain of carbon molecules. It is stable at high temperatures.

The SureHealth sugar replacer does not affect the metabolism. Its kilojoule intake is negligible and it is not considered a risk factor to any particular disease including obesity, impaired glucose intolerance, diabetes mellitus or cardio- vascular disease.
 
The SureHealth sugar replacer has the unique ability to offset “sugar demand stress cravings”. This is important to the diabetic because blood glucose is not compromised.
